Computer Technologies

There are five computers and two iPads available in Makerspace for any making project you are working on. Three Alienware PC’s and two iMac’s. On them you will find all the software needed to use along with the other technology in Makerspace.

If you are already at Makerspace and want to download a free application, find a staff member in the space and we might be able to download it right away.

Available on the Mac in the recording room, this digital audio workstation (DAW) is great for music creation! Full of different effects, instruments, and features for all your recording and musical needs.

Available on all Makerspace computers are all the Adobe products. Login to use these applications by using your TID credentials, and don’t forget to logout when finished!

Included on all computers, Blender is an open-source 3D creation software that can be used for creating 3D models that can be printed using our 3D printers, interactive 3D applications and games which can be used in our Virtual Reality rooms and more.

Included on all computers, Design Space is used to create designs which can then be sent via Bluetooth connection to our Cricut to cut out, draw, write or fold.

Included on all computers, Embrilliance Stitch Artist Level 3 is used for creating designs for the embroidery machines. Draw images, designs or type lettering and have the machine stitch it out onto a piece of fabric or clothing.

Included on all Apple computers in Makerspace, GarageBand is a fully equipped music creation studio that offers a complete sound library. This includes instruments, guitar and voice pre-sets, and a selection of session drummers and percussionists. With GarageBand, it’s easy to learn, play, record, and create.

Included on all Apple computers in Makerspace, iMovie is simple editing software. With iMovie, you can choose your clips, and add titles, music, and effects easily. iMovie even supports 4K video for high-quality films.

OBS Studio is a free, open-source, and cross-platform screencasting software that is perfect for use in our podcast studio. It can be used to add backgrounds with our greenscreen to live streams or recorded videos.

Pepkaura designer is installed on one Alienware computer. This program turns 3D designs into papercraft models.

Scan your model using the 3D scanner and turn it into a buildable papercraft model using the Cricut to cut and crease accurately.

On the Alienware computers is Reality Capture which helps you create 3D models from photographs. These models can be 3D printed or added to our virtual reality systems.

Included on all computers, Ultimaker Cura is an open-source slicing application for 3D printers. It allows users to open their stl files, choose print settings, slice them and send them to our Ultimaker 3D printers.
