Become a Makerspace Student Ambassador! (Now Closed)

The TRU Library Makerspace is looking for 5 Makerspace Student Ambassadors for Fall 2022! Makerspace Ambassadors will work in the Makerspace providing orientations, tours, and helping users. Knowledge of Makerspace technologies isn’t required but enthusiasm about supporting hands-on learning and exploration is a must!

What you will do:

What we are looking for:

·Provide orientations and tours to individuals and small groups

· Help users get started with Makerspace technologies and help troubleshoot issues when possible

· Support Makerspace staff

· Enthusiasm about education and helping students, staff, and faculty in the Makerspace

· Interested in making, design, technology, crafting (Experience with specific technologies is not required)

· Must be a full-time student (minimum 9 credits) for the semester appointed as an Ambassador

· Minimum GPA of 2.5

The position:

· 4 hours per week scheduled in the Makerspace from September 6 to December 2 (two 2-hour shifts each week)

· Attend a mandatory 4 hour training session in early September (date to be determined)

· Attend 4 hours of other events and meetings during the term

The Ambassador program is not a job. At the end of the term Ambassadors who’ve successfully completed the term will receive a $1000 award from the University.
