Sarah Porter Moving to a New Position!

We’re both excited and a little sad to announce that Sarah Porter is moving on from her role in the Makerspace to take on a new position in the Libraries as the Public Services Coordinator.

Sarah joined the Makerspace team in the fall of 2022 and immediately became a valued team member, bringing positive energy, creativity, and a willingness to take on new challenges. Many Makerspace users will know Sarah first for her enthusiasm while helping them with their “awesome” ideas and projects.

As Makerspace Librarian I’ve seen that Sarah brings that same enthusiasm and creativity to all areas of her work. Sarah has helped build many parts of Makerspace, but one particular example is her work developing our social media presence by regularly posting creative content, finding ways to include student and faculty content, designing graphics, and helping maintain our website. Sarah has also been an endless source of ideas for whiteboard questions, team-building events, tutorials and training, and other projects. Sarah’s work in these areas made our team and the Makerspace better, and I’m excited to see what she does in her new position.

Sarah’s last day was February 28th, but you will continue to see her in the Library and the Makerspace in her new role for the next couple of months.

Congratulations Sarah!
