Become a Makerspace Student Ambassador! (CLOSED)
Makerspace is looking for 2 new Student Makerspace Ambassadors for January to April 2024! Ambassadors support the Makerspace by providing orientations, tours, and helping users get started and troubleshoot issues. Knowledge of Makerspace technologies isn’t required but enthusiasm about supporting hands-on learning and experimentation is a must!
What you will be doing:
- Provide orientations and tours to individuals and small groups
- Help users get started and troubleshoot issues with Makerspace technologies
- Support Makerspace staff
What we are looking for:
- Enthusiasm about education and helping students, staff, and faculty in the Makerspace
- Interest in making, design, technology, programming, crafting, prototyping, etc. (Experience with specific technologies is not required)
- Must be a full-time student (minimum 9 credits) for the semester appointed as an Ambassador
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
The Details:
- 4 hours per week scheduled in the Makerspace from January 12 to April 5th
- Attend a mandatory 4 hour training session in early January (date to be determined)
- Attend 4 hours of other events and meetings during the term
The Ambassador program is not a job. At the end of the term Ambassadors who’ve successfully completed the term will receive a $1000 award from the University.
