Job Posting for 1 Research Assistant (RA): Podcasting!
This position is for 80 hours (Jan. 2024-March 2024)
Wage: $19/hr +14% benefits= ($19 +2.66) x80= 21.66×80= $1732.8
You would be expected to work an average of 10 hours a week from (holidays would be off and any observed holidays by TRU).
10 hours per week for each episode x 8
TOTAL: 80 hours
Start Date: Jan. 1, 2024
End Date: March 15, 2024
A bit about the research project:
AN INTERDISCIPLINARY DIALOGUE ON SOCIAL JUSTICE EDUCATION
The research question I would like to investigate in this new unfunded research project is: (1) How do racialized/marginalized postsecondary scholars in different faculties across Canada understand social justice education in their respective discipline? The sub-research questions are: (1a) What are social justice education initiatives that the participant is aware of in their disciplinary context? (1b) What are the challenges/successes/possibilities that can be acknowledged with respect to social justice education?
Required Qualifications: Full time student at TRU
Required Experience:
- Experience with podcasting recording, revising, and adding music to it in the STEMakerspace at TRU
- Experience with uploading and linking the episodes (8 most likely each 45 min) onto a website platform
- Experience with adding visuals, descriptions, notes to episode
- Experience with saving podcast recording in a repository and adding a closed caption to it
- Experience working under time pressure
- Being professional, reliable, organized, and meticulous
- Willing to teach/mentor research team on basics of podcasting
