This episode features makerspace users, staff, and faculty as they discuss what Makerspace is, what they are working on, and how to get started.
Learning something new is a daunting task! The desire may be there but the feeling that “it’s not for me” or “I can’t do that” often sows the seeds of doubt. Makerspace staff member Sarah Porter explains in the podcast staff are there to welcome any users into the space, be they student, faculty, or staff, and help them get set up for success in learning the various technologies we offer. A key reminder for anyone in the space is that it’s ok to fail. Some things just don’t work out and that’s ok! Try to fix it or ask for advice from staff and try again. It’s usually so much more rewarding once it does work out!
